Learning About Mobile Windshield Repairs

Hello, my name is Sydney Gray. Welcome to my site. I am excited to share my knowledge about mobile windshield repair on this site. On my way to work on day, my windshield was hit with a rock kicked up by the truck in front of me. When I made it to work, I immediately started looking into my repair options. When I called to schedule an appointment for after work, the windshield repair tech let me know that they could come to me. To prepare for the appointment, I started learning all I could about the process used for onsite replacement and repairs. I will share that information on this site to help others prepare as well.

Cracks and Chips: Your Windshield Needs Repaired or Replaced

by Ted Fuller

There are many parts of your car that are very important, but one part that is often overlooked is the windshield. Most people think that a windshield is simply there to keep the wind and other debris from your face, but it also acts as a structural support for your car. The windshield needs to be cleaned and in good condition to ensure that you and you and your loved ones are completely safe. If you have a crack or a chip in your windshield then you need to get it repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Here are a few different things to keep in mind when dealing with your windshield.

Line Of Sight

When you take your vehicle in for an inspection, one of the first things looked at is the windshield. If your windshield has a small crack or chip, but it is in the driver's line of sight, the odds are you will have to get a new windshield. The reason for this is that a chip or a crack can be distracting to the driver, and therefore become a hazard. When you are driving it is very important that you are not distracted and that your vision is not obstructed in any way.

Act With Haste

Many people eventually get around to fixing the chop or the crack, but the faster that you are able to repair the windshield the better. If you wait then small debris and dust is going to get into the crack and make it harder for the sealant to actually work. If the sealant is obstructed by dust and other debris, the windshield may seem like it is fixed, but still may spread. If you act with haste and get the chip repaired as soon as possible then it is more likely to be a high quality repair.
